The interface is very easy to use, allows you to easily switch between sessions and groups, reduces desktop clutter, and supports multiple-session windows. In addition, SecureCRT and SecureFX also provide automated routine configuration tasks, extensive session management, more capable secure remote access, and powerful scripting capabilities.

VanDyke SecureCRT and SecureFX 9.6.3.3599 Key Features:

  • Real-time keyword highlighting

Highlight keywords in the session window to identify errors in log files or stream output and highlight clues. Specifying keyword colors on an individual basis allows you to color-code output to highlight specific lines. Keyword attributes (bold, reverse video, and color) can be combined. Regular expressions can be specified as keywords, making it easier to highlight strings such as IP addresses. Substrings and phrases can also be matched.

  • RDP support

Consolidate network connections from within SecureCRT by connecting RDP sessions in tabs or tiles.

  • IPv6 support

IPv6 addresses can be specified as session hostnames.

  • Screen font scaling

The font may grow or shrink as the SecureCRT window is resized.

  • Call SecureCRT from the web browser

VanDyke SecureCRT & SecureFX 9.6.3.3599 Keygen can be configured as the default Telnet application for use with most web browsers.

  • Launch a remote command on connecting

The session option allows you to launch a remote command or application immediately after connecting to a session, making it easier to dedicate a session to a specific task.

  • Local shell session

The local shell is supported on all platforms, making it easy to work locally without leaving SecureCRT. In Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 or later, you can open a tabbed CMD or PowerShell session.

  • Execute a local shell command

Before connecting to the session, perform a port switch or run a batch script using the local shell run command option.

  • Serial device support

Use VanDyke SecureCRT & SecureFX to connect to serial devices via COM ports. When you configure only serial sessions, the actual COM ports are displayed in the Session Options dialog box. On Windows, the ability to access a remote system through a named pipe makes it easier to connect to virtual machines.

  • Hex view

Hexadecimal notation helps debug serial communication. The Hex View window displays hexadecimal data independently for each connected session, making it easy to work with multiple sequential sessions. A selection made in the Hex or ASCII panel is displayed in the other panel, and the ASCII panel can also be hidden.

  • Scratchpad tab

Use a custom notepad tab or tile to write notes or copy and paste configuration commands or other text without having to open a separate editor. The contents of the notepad can be saved to a file.

  • TAPI support

Create, configure, and save session settings for TAPI devices, including modem, country code, phone numbers, and redial.

  • Alpha transparency

Specify the transparency level for the active and inactive windows so you can see what’s behind the SecureCRT window or easily compare the contents of two SecureCRT windows.

  • Delay options

Adjust the number of milliseconds to pause between characters and/or between lines. The option to delay sending characters to wait for a text request allows you to send data as quickly as the system can process it.

  • FIPS 140-2 support

If the administrative option is set to run in “FIPS mode”, SecureCRT uses the FIPS 140-2 validated cryptography library and only allows FIPS-approved algorithms.

  • Session locking

Lock sessions with a password when connecting. While a session is locked, it cannot be entered or closed. You can hide session output if desired.

  • File-based configuration

Create a controlled SecureCRT environment by customizing toolbars, menus, and the keyboard shortcuts they contain. Create your toolbars with buttons for opening sessions, calling scripts, and sending strings. Add your commands to the Windows system menu and context menus.

(Released on 08-05-2025)

New Feature:

  • Windows: SecureCRT officially supports Windows Server 2025.

Bug Fixes:

  • If a session had a disabled dynamic port forward entry, connection attempts using that session as a firewall failed.
  • In a TN3270 session, pasting data too long for a field resulted in data overflowing into adjacent fields.
  • Keyboard input could freeze in TN3270 sessions after toggling insert mode.
  • Data sent over serial connections had a noticeable delay displaying in the session view.
  • The Command Window reverted to sending commands to the active session when all session tabs were closed, regardless of the “Send Commands to” setting.
  • Terminal sessions incorrectly displayed the character ‘p’ in place of DECRQM escape sequences.
  • Converting a VanDyke-format SSH keypair to OpenSSH format used the old OpenSSH format instead of the new format.
  • The “- SecureCRT” suffix was always appended to the application window title bar, even when the title bar was set with a global option, script, or /TITLEBAR command-line argument.
  • If a session logged a custom “Upon disconnect” message and the session was closed without first disconnecting, the disconnect message was logged twice.
  • Windows: SecureCRT could crash due to a third-party dependency when using AES-GCM algorithms.
  • Windows: If a scratchpad tab was part of a group of sessions being sent to a new window, SecureCRT crashed.
  • Windows: SecureCRT could crash if multiple top level windows were closed at the same time.
  • Windows: When going into full-screen mode from a maximized window, SecureCRT may have appeared behind the Windows taskbar.
  • Windows: Certain USB-Serial adapters or virtual COM port emulators did not appear in the Port dropdown list when creating a Serial session.
  • Mac/Linux: When using a configuration copied from Windows that included a scratchpad auto session, SecureCRT crashed at startup.
  • Linux: SecureCRT could hang on launch if checking for available application update failed.

Operating System:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8, 8.1
  • Windows 10
